It's not very often I get to share event public relations tips with other industry personnel. In fact, I think the last article may have been with BizBash last December. So I was very happy when Anna Sawyer at Guidebook wanted to include my advice in an article they posted yesterday. The concept of their application and service is invaluable to those hosting events with multiple activities taking place at the same time.

You can read what tip I shared by clicking here. However, I do want to share this to our friends. Working with the media for events is totally different than working with them for brand campaigns. There is a whole other set of expectations the media has for your promotional events.

The basic principles of getting the word to them early applies, but event publicity is all about the experience in the end. Think about this at the beginning of your planning and everything should go more smoothly for you. Or you can just contact our office for assistance.

Take some time today to think about what events you will want to host in 2015. This will give you a much better chance of success in attendance and coverage if you do so.

Design Manager - Equipment, Hunt-Fish and Footwear Categories (New England Based)

The Design Manager leads and provides direction to the work of the Design team, overseeing the work of others and managing one or more categories or departments.

Key accountabilities:
Creating product aesthetic inclusive of color, pattern, trim and silhouette. Partnering with Product Developers and Corporate Merchants in conducting market research to evaluate competitive set, identify seasonal trends, and decide on seasonal concept direction. Collaborating with Product Development to select fabric and trims and relate them to the product design, function and silhouette. Creating seasonal corporate color palettes and ensuring on-brand, commercial color direction and color compositions. Creating and designing silhouette, silhouette direction and garment styling; collaborating with Corporate Merchants to recommend fit block to Technical Design. Creating and deciding on brand appropriate/viable surface pattern and print direction.

May travel internationally for research and development which includes travel to Asia to meet with mills and vendors for research and product development and to ensure all product is commercialized to the very highest standards.

Qualifications:

BA/BS required
8-10 years relevant design experience required
Strong technical skills in fabric and silhouette with focus on innovative design
Ability to work with and manage large diverse work teams
Collaborative approach to work and driving results is essential

And if the inviting images of sweets in bright, saturated colors aren’t enough to tingle our taste buds, the actual sweets we consume are brimming with enough sugar to light up the pleasure centers of our brain, and to make us return for more. “Sugar Rush” will focus on artworks that address the topic from multiple perspectives. Works can celebrate sweetness, or criticize it, or simply reference it in technique; works may mimic the saturated, rainbow colors of candy or the thick swirls of cake frosting. They can be any 2D or 3D mediums including but not limited to: works on paper, prints, books, paintings, sculptures, and installation.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
The registration for the event is free. It is open to all.
The works presented must demonstrate an original innovative writing in which artistic research is predominant about the technical means used.

– Only the musical videos and the video clips will be accepted.
– The length should not exceed 10 minutes.
– It is possible to submit several works for selection. There is no restriction for the year of production.

The director who presents a video at the event claims to be the owner of the broadcasting, reproduction and distribution rights of the film. In no case Heure Exquise! could be held responsible for any breaches related to copyright.

Heure Exquise! recalls that the use of existing or not musical works in a clip requires permission of copyright holders.

All formats can be sent provided that they are of sufficient quality to be projected on a large screen (e.g theater screen).
The corrupted files will not be considered

The registration form must be completed for each submitted video and send by email to musicvideoart@exquise.org. The latter is available for download.

It is possible to send files to an ftp server, please ask for the codes if necessary when you send the registration form.

The deadline for the receipt of the films is October 31st 2014
