Hello!

Hope you've been well since last time you read one of these, and if this is the first time, welcome! You lucky thing you...

As ever I've left it too long since I last sent out a newsletter and now have loads of stuff to tell you about, like one of those people (me) who saves up as many ailments as possible before they'll get round to going to a doctor.

I have three big events to shout at you about, but I also have a few sets at some local events coming up, so please check my gigs page for more details if you're interested (and local - to Manchester).

So, first up some news from...

Following a successful run at Edinburgh,

where lots of people saw our show and some said nice things about it after,

We're doing one more performance in Manchester prior to our Spring tour next year (details TBA)
It's at Z-Arts this Monday, the 27th of October, as part of Manchester Science Festival, and we have a 2 for 1 ticket deal available exclusively to subscribers of this newsletter, if you quote 'Golden' at the Z-Arts box office.

In case you've forgotten or never knew what it's all about, here's the trailer.

Tickets available from Z-Arts

Pen:Chant Presents...

I'm starting a new spin-off of our regular night of music, spoken word and comedy at the Kings Arms, Salford.

Pen:Chant Presents will feature a full hour-long solo show from some of the best comedy, spoken word, music and theatre performers we've seen at international fringe festivals over the last few years, supported by some excellent local talent and hosted by me.

Our first effort will be on Fri 14th November and will feature the excellent Mark Grist performing his show Rogue Teacher - the story of how he went from a mild-mannered English teacher to an international battle-rap star and YouTube sensation. Supporting him will be Geddes Loom's very own Léonie Kate Higgins and the spoken word stylings of Mancunian hip hop legend Martin Visceral.

There's a whole bunch of videos on YouTube of Mark in various battles, but here's a little taster of him doing something a bit more gentle

For more details and tickets, visit the Kings Arms' website

And finally...

Following a road-block debut in March headed by Shane Koyczan, Hit the Ode returns to Contact at the end of November,

the 28th to be precise, with an equally stellar line-up featuring 3 x world slam champion Buddy Wakefield, Bristolian performance poetry stalwart and award-winning novelist Anna Freeman and up-and-coming Mancunian star Keisha Thompson.

Book early, this is bound to be another sell-out!

Open mic spots available exclusively through signing up here: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/open-mic-sign-up-list-hit-the-ode-november-manchester-tickets-13924696141
