EARTHQUAKES: LADRA V. NEW DOMINION DISMISSED
In Ladra v. New Dominion, the plaintiff filed suit alleging that the increase in earthquakes in Oklahoma is tied to the disposal of saltwater related to fracking operations. She sought to recover actual and punitive damages for personal injuries. The Lincoln County District Court granted the defendants' Motion to Dismiss the case, finding that an adjudication of this lawsuit would require the Court to decide issues that are within the exclusive jurisdiction of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. As a result, it dismissed the case due to its finding that the Court does not have jurisdiction to hear the case.
