The Brighter Side
NHS, NAHS and Rotary Members Inducted
Members of the Interact Rotary Club, National Art Honor Society and National Honor Society were inducted in a ceremony at the school on October 15. Parents and students attended the potluck dinner and celebrated the accomplishments of their student and those of their child's peers. The Interact Rotary Club is a club that stresses the importance of community service and the vital role that plays in developing a thriving community.  Each of the members of this club are examples of students that go above and beyond the required community service hours Maui Prep requires. Many of them also seek out and take initiative in ways to better the community around them.
National Art Honor Society members are chosen based upon a submitted application and each artist must also meet a required number of art credits.
National Honor Society members are chosen by the faculty based upon scholarship, service, leadership and character and they must be a member of the sophomore, junior or senior class. Way to go Pueo!
Out and About with Maui Prep
Community Studies in Kindergarten
Kindergarten has been learning about how they are part of a community. This week they took a trip to the Napili Fire Station and learned about fire safety. The students were amazed that the firemen actually live and work at the fire station. The firemen taught the students about making a fire escape plan at home, how to stop, drop and roll and allowed each student to use the fire hose! The students returned to Maui Prep inspired to build a Maui Prep Kindergarten Fire Station and will be working together to transform the classroom into a fire station!  Please look forward to our grand opening and tour date in early December. ~Mrs. Baylosis
