"IN THE MONEY"

Monopoly money, funny money we’ve all heard many expressions for our colourful currency, but do you know the reason behind their ever evolving shape, size, colour and even feel? The Niagara Falls History Museum will be playing host to the Bank of Canada’s travelling exhibition called “In The Money” from September 18, 2014 to January 5, 2015. This exhibit highlights the innovations and initiatives that have made today’s bank notes easy to use and difficult to counterfeit.

Along with the exhibit, the Museum is offering an educational programme geared towards grades 5-8 students. This programme looks to offer students some hands-on, interactive features with bank notes, and also looks to develop an understanding for financial literacy.
