Resources for Troop Leaders

  3.  January 10: Get ready for the cookie sale with Cookie University Hands on activities teach selling techniques, how to have a successful booth sale, safety tips, as well as the importance of setting goals and marketing.  More > 
     
  4. Need a letter to open a troop bank account? This letter allows you to open, close or add/delete a signer for a troop bank account. To get your letter, use the online form.  Once verified that you have met all the requirements a bank letter will be emailed to you within 1 week.
    Requirements for opening a bank account.
    - Troop must be registered with at least 2 adults and 5 girls
    - Two authorized signers – registered adult Girl Scouts, and not from the same family.
    - Signers must have a criminal background check on file.

     
  5. Resource of the month: Good Life Assisted Living Center 928 Westwood Drive in Amarillo Good Life is a great resource for troops looking to put in service hours and they are constantly doing really fun activities (making homemade dog treats, having masquerade parties and doing chair yoga). Also, girls may earn the Silver Lining Patch. To contact Good Life, please call Arial Spence at 806-651-9515.

Upcoming Fun for November (Registration for events closes 1 week prior)

November 8 S’MORE ENGINEERING  Participate in a fun, educational, and challenging engineering program. Cadettes will meet women engineers and learn what engineering is all about. Then, they will have the chance to compete in a surprise engineering competition and make something they can be proud of.
November 15 IN THE WOODS Your troop will enjoy learning tent pitching, knots, GPS, fire building and various kinds of outdoor cooking.   
November 22 DAISY DESTINATION (Daisies) at camp Kiwanis: The girls will participate in a service craft to be donated to a local retirement home for the holidays.
November 22 CHALLENGE COURSES Brownies & Juniors Low Ropes 9 to Noon. Juniors & Cadettes High Ropes 1 to 5pm.
