Southland Sales Increase Slips Below National Increase in Sept.
Year-to-year increase is 7%, but is 2.5% less than the national pace

Southland sales still hold a commanding four-point percentage lead to U.S. in YTD increases, which saw 9.4% vs 5.5% increases respectively. The Big Japanese three now hold 45% of the Southland Market Share. Click here to view the Southland Auto Outlook.

A dealership salesperson tells how a customer sitting across the desk shocked him by pulling out a smartphone to verify the competitiveness of his price quotes. But trends say this: Learn to deal with it. So-called “showrooming” at the dealership is happening and will happen more with the proliferation of mobile-device use, says Arianne Walker, a senior director at J.D. Power.
