Generosity On Display At Abundance Dinner & Auction

On October 25, attendees at EFN’s annual auction raised $325,000--enough funds to provide nearly 2 million meals to hungry families and individuals in our community. We were awed by the incredible generosity on display.

Admission is FREE! Bowl prices starting at $10

This Emergency Food Network event is a tradition enjoyed by more than 500 people each year. During Empty Bowls, attendees can choose from more than 1,200 bowls to purchase for the home and for holiday gifts. After purchasing bowls, guests are served a bowl of soup (in a separate bowl), donated by local chefs.

We hope to see you there!

We need some help distributing Empty Bowls posters throughout the community. If you are interested in helping email volunteer@efoodnet.org.

Holiday Food & Fund Drives

The holidays are fast approaching and that means you will start seeing EFN Food Drive bins throughout the community. When you’re at the store, don’t forget to grab a few extra cans of tuna, soup, or jars of peanut butter and donate them to a food drive near you!

Would you like to have your own Food and Fund Drive where you work, at your place of worship, or school? Follow these two easy steps!
1. Check out our Food and Fund Drive Kit.
2. Fill out this form and email it to volunteer@efoodnet.org.

Volunteer of the Month

Nordstrom of Tacoma

Each year United Way’s Day of Caring builds a stronger community by connecting volunteers with local nonprofits. We were honored to be matched with Nordstrom of Tacoma. Over a two-day period, more than 30 Nordstrom staff repacked 43,890 pounds of apples and 4,800 pounds of oats in just 9 hours. That’s equivalent to 100,000 apples and 20,000 one-cup servings of oats!

“Giving back to the community is so important to Nordstrom as a company,” said Jessica Beroth, Nordstrom Human Resource Assistant. “Volunteering for EFN meant so much to our employees because we were able to help the community through boxing food to send to corresponding food banks. It warmed all of our hearts to know that what we were boxing and packaging is going to go to someone local in need.”

When asked what they  enjoyed about their volunteer opportunity at EFN, Beroth said, “the healthy competition that you promote!  We loved being able to see our name move up on the [Repack totals] board.  As a company, we strive to be the best at everything.”

Thank you Nordstrom for giving your best at our Repack Project!
