CALABAR IMPORTS opened Bed Stuy PopUp on Thursday October 9 at 2pm and it will remain open Thursdays - Sundays until December 31. The PopUp is part of Bridge Street Development Corporation's Popup programThe Pop Up will feature designers and collections from Flourish Accessories, a unique Brooklyn home furnishings company, Whisper, a Bed Stuy based organic body products company, WOW WOW by Wunmi, Nitjuan Jewelrya handmade jewelry companyLovable Treasuresa jewelry ad accessories company, Tafari Tribe, a Brooklyn based shop, and Satin Doll & Co., an accessories company. The Pop will also feature WORDS SUNDAY will add a distinctive literary flavor and commence on Sunday, October 26, showcasing paired readings of distinguished, award-winning and critically acclaimed poets and performers who just happen to live and work in Central Brooklyn. It will also feature BUSINESS THURSDAYS commencing October 23 and focus on business development, social media and marketing, and networking for women. FOOD SATURDAYS by Milly's Market will feature FOOD & TASTINGS from local and upstate farmers on Saturdays. Where: The event will take place at 351 Tompkins Avenue, Brooklyn (between Madison and Monroe Street) in the heart of Stuyvesant Heights.

Janice Lowe
is a poet and composer. Her writing has been published in numerous journals and anthologies including CallalooThe HatIn the Tradition, and American Poetry Review. Her articles on teaching fun and innovative creative writing lessons have appeared in Teachers & Writers Collaborative publications, including From Medusa to the SkySing the Sun Up, and Old Faithful
Janice is passionate about new musical theatre and mentoring young writers. She co-designed White Bird Production’s popular Summer Musical Theatre Workshop for youth in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, now in its ninth year. With playwright Melanie Maria Goodreaux and fourth-graders at Brooklyn's PS 156, Janice composed I'm Searching the Universe for a New Friend, a new musical set in Brownsville, Brooklyn, and fusing the R&B, reggaeton, hip-hop and dancehall sounds of the neighborhood.

We are excited to share with you our technique on how we make our Confetti Bracelets.  This 2 hour class will not only teach you how to crochet, but how to pick out the proper supplies when considering putting one of our fabulous bracelets togetherThe class is free, but space is limited, and we ask that you send us an email (nitjuan2@yahoo.com), so that we can hold your space.  Supplies are $7.It doesn't matter if you are an experienced crocheter or if you don't know what a crochet hook is.  All are welcome!
