A year ago, The Pointlaunched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $10,000 to be able to pay our writers for the first time. Three weeks later, we had raised more than $18,000 through the Kickstarter website, in addition to another $7,000 offline from people who had heard about the campaign. That incredible support allowed us to compensate our writers for the next two issues of the magazine (including for issue 7, which ended up having four articles recognized by Best American Essays 2014), as well as to pay for a much-needed upgrade to our website.
A year later, we remain grateful to all of you who contributed, and hopeful that you've been happy with the result. The Point is still a small magazine which depends for its survival on your subscriptions and donations—and we hope you'll consider giving to us again as the holidays approach. Tax-deductible donations are now easy to make through the website at the bottom of this page. If you are not already a subscriber but have been enjoying the free articles that we post here from our website, we also hope you'll consider showing your support by signing up for a subscription, for as little as $16 a year (for two issues).
