FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Griffin Power Announces Fall Town halls

Oct 20 – With the recent switch to winter rates, Griffin Power has scheduled two town hall meetings to hear from customers and to advise them of ways to keep their bills down this winter.   The second of these events will be an online town hall conducted via the “City of Griffin” Facebook page.

The first meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 27 from 6PM to 7PM in the Municipal Courtroom at City Hall. Hosted by Griffin Power Director Bill Bosch, subjects covered will include utility rates and ways to keep heating costs down this winter.

The second, online town hall is scheduled for the same day from 7:30PM to 8:30PM.  The online town hall will begin with a brief review of information covered during the meeting earlier that night and continue into question-and-answer format for the remainder of the evening.  Moderated by Bosch, the purpose of the additional meeting is to reach individuals who couldn’t make it.

“We’re trying something new,” says Bosch.  “Some of our customers just can’t make it to every meeting, so we’re trying to bring the meeting to them.”  To participate in the online town hall, individuals should go to the City's Facebook page at "The City of Griffin" at 7:30PM and look for the thread discussing Griffin Power.  Customers at either meeting who wish to address issues related to specific accounts will need to schedule follow-up appointments.
