Light Up the Night--More Houses, More Lights, More Impact

 KidZRocK NEWS

This week at KidZRocK, HiSKidZ will be learning more about Elijah and our awesome God who does miracles. We will keep learning together that God does incredible things and even though life has its ups and downs, we don't have to worry because He is in control.

Next week, Oct. 29 we will be celebrating God's goodness with a team from the Kostroma Christian Church in Kostroma, Russia.

We will divide HiSKidZ and Jr High into three groups and "VBS style" we will move through 3 stations to participate in games & snacks, music and a visit with our Russian guests.

HiSKidZ are welcome to come in the costumes in they want (nothing scary or bloody, etc).

Three important things to know:

1) HiSKidZ will still meet in the main building in their small groups with their leaders.

2) KidZRocK will begin and end at the same time 6-7:15

3) We will still use the car line and will begin dismissing at 7:10.

Lil HiSKidZ have been having a blast this month learning about kindness. Each week our excellent teachers have helped them to learn that Jesus is kind to us, our Bible friends were kind, and we need to be kind, too.

This past week, with the help of Christian Campus Students from MIZZOU and WIU, lil HiSKidZ learned about how Lydia was kind to Paul and invited him to her house after he shared about Jesus with her. Check out their super cute craft that reminded them that Lydia was a lady who sold purple cloth.

You can find Lydia and Pauls' story in Acts 16:13-15. I hope you will have fun re-reading the story this week with your children.

LIGHT THE NIGHT IS NOW LIGHT UP THE NIGHT

For the past several years we have celebrated the fall season with a party we call Light the Night. It is held at the church and includes, games, inflatables and trunk or treat.

This year, in order to take the Light of Jesus to the streets of our communities, we aren't just going to Light the Night at NTCC, we are going to
LIGHT UP THE NIGHT at homes all around the area.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Small groups, individuals and groups of friends will host a Light Up the Night Safe House--a place where kids can come and trick or treat and know that it is a safe place to visit.

A list of houses will be provided to families so they know who is participating, and each yard will have a
LIGHT UP THE NIGHT YARD SIGN in their yard.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
You can expect to have a great evening with your family as you visit different LIGHT UP THE NIGHT houses each decorated with a different theme, a possible carnival game, candy, and glow-in-the-dark give away tag, and the chance to win a free NTCC MPB rental for your next kids party.

HOW DO I WIN?
To get your name in the drawing for the MPB rental. Simply take a picture of your children at each NTCC LIGHT UP THE NIGHT home you visit, then post that picture to NTCC's social media sites like our twitter @NTCCKeokuk or the NTCC or HiSKidZ Facebook Page--if you don't do social media you can email your pics to the church at ntcckeokuk@gmail.com

Your name will be entered for each LIGHT UP THE NIGHT picture submitted. A name will be drawn the day after Halloween and then you can schedule your rental based on calendar availability anytime within the next year.

WHERE DO I GET THE LIST?
Lists of participating LIGHT UP THE NIGHT homes will be passed out next week at KidZRocK, and will be distributed in our local schools or you can get one from us at the church.

WHY THE CHANGE?
We will LIGHT UP THE NIGHT this year because we want to reach people with the light of Jesus and we know that not every one will come to a church--even for a party. So we are going out of the walls of our church and into our neighborhoods to reach out to others with the love of Jesus.

We hope your family will take part in the fun, take some great pictures, make some great memories and maybe even win an MPB rental as we
LIGHT UP THE NIGHT for Jesus!

Should Christians
