Dear CIRCA,

Our ESims Fall Conference is approaching! Make note of November 15h, from 9-5:30 on your calendars! Contribute to a whole day of MUN and IR learning and fun! Our partner schools from around the city will come to campus to meet YOU and simulate with you the most pressing crises from Ancient Rome to modern day assemblies. Staff ESims! Our registration form will go live next week, but e-mail Ojas Sathe to staff right away!

That being said, we still needs committees to be proposed. Background guides are as simple as 3-5 pages long with two topics of debate and just a brief list of positions. Please contact Madi Pracht to propose. Committees are due on November 1st.

Cheers,
The ESims Family (Adriano, Danting, Madi, Mark, Ojas, and Roberta)

1. Join the Undergraduate Recruitment Committee
Who we are: The Undergraduate Recruitment Committee (URC) is a campus organization that coordinates student admissions volunteers. With around 150 members, the URC is one of the largest and most active undergraduate organizations on campus. Giving tours is one of the primary responsibilities of URC members, and we currently offer three types of tours for three types of members:
1) General: This is the general tour that talks about everything on campus (engineering, science, arts, humanities, student life, dining, etc.). Engineers and scientists are welcome to give these tours in addition to the engineering and science tours.
2) Engineers: We have an engineering tour for engineers who are in URC. You can talk about the school you are a part of and what you do on campus! We focus on the engineering, so don't worry about knowing everything about the humanities/the college.
3) Scientists: We have science tours for science majors in the URC. The focus in these tours is science and research on campus. You can talk about the classes you are in and what kind of research you or your friends do.
URC members are also involved in a wide assortment of recruitment initiatives intended to introduce and affirm the Columbia undergraduate experience with high school students all around the world. Outreach to prospective and admitted Columbia Engineering students is a particular focus of the URC. This includes being an integral part of Days on Campus in the spring, as well as an opportunity to interview applicants who apply to Columbia in the fall.

Application Link: tiny.cc/joinurc

Apply By: Halloween/Friday, October 31 @ 5pm (not midnight!!)

Who we recruit: ANYONE! First years, engineers, artists, scientists. No need to have extensive knowledge about Columbia...that's that the New Member Training is for!
