A Service of Remembrance

A Service of Remembrance

On Sunday, November 2nd, during both the early and the second service, we will be remembering the lives of those we have lost in this past year. If you have family members or friends whom you would like included in a remembrance liturgy, please send the names to Pastor Matt at matt@brightonfirstpres.org.  Also, please include information about whether the person was a friend or a family member.

Guest Preacher

On Sunday, November 2nd, for both services, we will welcome Alfred Keni to our pulpit. Alfred is one of two people who is spending a couple of weeks with the folks in the Presbytery of Denver as a representative from the Presbytery of Zimbabwe. Please join us for worship that morning and have an opportunity to get to meet Alfred and celebrate this wonderful partnership of people in mission together.

Alternate Gift Giving For The Holidays

Alternate Gift Giving For The Holidays

Looking for something different for someone special on your list?  Or stumped about what to give the person whose name you drew at work?  The Mission Ministry Team is offering some early Christmas shopping with Alternate Gift Giving.  There are 3 organizations to choose from:

SPONSOR A CHILD…and Transform a Life in Zimbabwe
HIS HANDS’ MINISTRIES’ FOOD CUPBOARD
HEIFER INTERNATIONAL

You select one (or more); make a donation in someone’s name, or perhaps in
memoriam; and a description of your organization(s) of choice will be printed on card stock for you to give to the person in whose name your donation was made.

Please stop by the Alternate Gift Giving table in the Narthex.  A mission team member will be there to answer questions you might have.  Checks or cash are both welcome.

Children’s Christmas Program

Children's Christmas Program

On a hill just outside of Bethlehem, lowly shepherds were tending their sheep at night. They didn’t get much company out there. People had been passing through for several days as the census was underway… Kids, it’s not to early to start
practicing for the Christmas program (Shepherds, Sheep, and a Savior), on
Sunday, December 21st. We will begin practice at 9:00-9:45 am on Sunday mornings beginning Sunday, November 2nd. Pick up your CD of music in the Narthex to start listening to the music.

If you need more information call Cindy at the church office or email her at cindy@brighotnfirstpres.org

Sunday School for Adults & Youth

Each Sunday morning, we offer different Sunday school options for adults and youth in between first and second service. There is something for everyone!

Join us in the Small Dining Room at 8:45 for The Five Love Languages – a six-week video based series that helps individuals, couples and families express love to one another in the ways that are most meaningful.

We are also continuing the current study on The Book of James in the Great Expectations Room on the west side of the Fellowship Hall, also at 8:45.

Youth Sunday school will be at 9:00 am in the youth room upstairs. Join Tom Delgado to explore your faith and ask questions about the Bible, creeds,
disciples, Jesus and other beliefs and hot topics.

*There will also be a children’s class offered at the same time so that people of all ages will be able to join us.

Do you enjoy seeing the kids on Sunday mornings? First Kids is gearing up for the Fall, we are in need of Your help! We need teachers for group time with the kids, and people who enjoy helping with the children’s music. First Kids happens during the worship service at 10:15, just after the children’s message. The children are; split into 2 groups; 3 years through kindergarten and then 1st grade through 5th grade. Curriculum and supplies are provided.
