You've heard of Speed Dating? Well this is the literary equivalent.  Maybe you are looking for the right book to guide you through the transition from career to your Next Chapter of life, but there are so many books out there. Join us to get introduced to several selections that range from stories of other peoples' pursuits of their passions to books on keeping your brain sharp to a treatise on what became of the squares, the hippies and the activists and which group will triumph as Boomers get their "second wind." It will be a fast paced, fun filled evening. Maybe you will even find your next literary love!

A book reviewer will be available for each book, and using the speed dating approach, you will be able to participate in up to six book groups.

Click here to register. There's no charge. For additional information, contact Cris Siebenlist, Next Chapter KC Program Committee Chair, at cpigsfly @gmail.com or Karen Hostetler, Next Chapter Kansas City Director, at karenh@sckck.org or (913) 281-8908.

Monthly Next Chapter Book Group
Leisureville: Adventures in a World Without Children

by Andrew Blechman
Tuesday, October 28 - 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Kansas City, Kansas South Branch Library
3104 Strong Ave, Kansas City, KS

Here's a reminder that the Book Group will be meeting on Tuesday, October 28. We are reading nonfiction this month. The book is  Leisureville: Adventures in a World Without Children by Andrew Blechman. It can also be found in the title of its original edition which is Leisureville: Adventures in America's Retirement Utopias.

Here's a review from the Library Journal:

"Intriguing, appalling, but always engaging.  Blechman thoroughly and with good humor delves into the largely American, and growing, phenomenon of gated, age-segregated communities. . . .Highly recommended."

Hope you can join us on October 28!
