Discovery Wildlife Park Receives Award for Commitment to Service Excellence

“Our total business philosophy is that it doesn’t matter how good a job we think we’re doing; it only matters how our customers think we’re doing.
-Doug Bos, Owner Discovery Wildlife Park, Innisfail AB

Red Deer, AB. October 22, 2014: Discovery Wildlife Park was awarded a Travel Alberta Alto Award on October 20, 2014 for their commitment to service excellence. The award recognizes the park for delivering outstanding customer service to their visitors, employees, suppliers and other stakeholders.

Discovery Wildlife Park goes the extra mile for their customers by providing unique amenities like golf cart rentals and a special family room for parents with babies. They even offer weather guarantees. If it’s too sunny or too rainy, guests can request a rain check and come back another day. Complimentary sunscreen and insect repellent are also available to park guests.

A unique small zoo experience, Discovery Wildlife Park provides guests with the opportunity to enjoy interactive presentations and educational experiences with animals. Many of the animals at the park were orphaned or injured in the wild, were unwanted pets, or came from other zoos which are now closed.

The park is home to a diverse range of species including monkeys, bears, tigers, jaguars, wolves, raccoon, squirrels and an alligator. The zoo has a number of bears, which have starred in feature films and is home to the only white bear in captivity. The park is also the only place in Canada where you can see European Red Squirrels, the charming creatures featured in Beatrix Potter storybooks.

Receiving an Alto Award is a tremendous honor for any organization and Doug Bos and Debbie Rowland, owners of the park, could not be more pleased.  Alto Awards recognize individuals and organizations committed to enriching Alberta’s tourism industry and who by their actions inspire others and demonstrate what can be achieved by working together.
