THE BIGGEST NEWS OF THE YEAR:
The Park City community breathed a collective sigh of relief when the big news was announced in September that after 3 years of uncertainty and lawsuits, Vail Resorts acquired Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) for $182.5 million. While this upcoming ski season will be a time of transition, Vail Resorts intends to connect Canyons to PCMR as soon as next ski season, provided necessary approvals and permits can be obtained. The resorts will remain separate, each retaining their unique character. The “epic news" is that PCMR has been added to the Epic Pass offerings so season pass holders can ski Park City’s resorts and 8 additional Vail Resorts in Colorado, California, Michigan and Europe. We are thrilled about that!
About a year ago, Keller Williams Park City traveled to Vail, CO to witness first-hand how a vision-oriented operator such as Vail positively influences the entire community. We saw the transformation they accomplished with their Lionshead redevelopment and heard from many locals that the Vail Experience® for skiers, riders, and guests is what keeps people coming back. We welcome Vail Resorts to our community, let the experience begin!

DEER VALLEY ACQUIRES SOLITUDE RESORT
One step closer to ONE Wasatch
Within two weeks of the Vail announcement, Deer Valley surprised many of us with the news they had acquired Solitude Resort, taking over operations at the end of the 2014/2015 season. This reduces the number of decision makers at the table for ONE Wasatch's efforts to unite all 7 ski areas to 5, bringing the likelihood of this game changing combination much closer to reality.

Deer Valley Youth Ski Instruction
The Children’s Ski School at Deer Valley is packed with non-stop fun and includes activities like hot cocoa and snow cone parties; natural and man-made terrain features and activities; and four fuzzy mascots that roam the slopes looking to say hello to our littlest guests. Taught by enthusiastic Instructors, Children’s Ski School lessons are designed to ensure that each child receives personal instruction, supervision and have fun with their peer group.

 The Sundance Film Festival, a program of the Sundance Institute, is the hottest event of the winter!
Sundance is one of the largest independent film festivals in the United States with screenings held throughout Park City, Salt Lake City, and Ogden, UT as well as at Sundance Resort every January. The festival is a showcase for new work from American and international independent filmmakers and comprises competitive sections for American and international dramatic and documentary films, feature-length films, short films, among others.

 Park City Film Series
The Park City Film Series (PCFS) is a nonprofit organization presenting the best of independent feature, documentary, world and local cinema. PCFS is a single screen, independent art house cinema, which is part of a small group of theaters representing 4% of all theaters nationwide.
