Helping Young People Find There Feet
Matthew (not his real name) came to Just Drop-In as he wanted to get off benefits and start working. His ambition was to become a HGV driver but the training costs were prohibitive. He had been everywhere for help to no avail.
Volunteers and staff at JDI spent time getting to know Matt, supporting him with his aspirations, sourcing and costing training and helping him search for funding opportunities. During this process Matt’s benefits were unexpectedly stopped. He was very anxious and wasn’t managing the

situation well. Just Drop-In helped him get his benefits fully reinstated and taught him how to manage problems more productively. He also found a funding source and has now commenced his HGV tuition. Matt is very much looking forward to the future and contributing to society as a wage earner. Matt explained:
“Just Drop-In have helped me with my benefits, to get into training and to feel healthier. Everyone is kind, polite and above all else – helpful. You go to other places and you don’t get very far before people stop listening or tell you they can’t help you. It’s not like that at Just Drop-In; they understand and do whatever they can to help.â€

We would like to thank Johnnie Johnson Housing Trust, who installed MyPad in 2012. They have made a £300 donation towards counselling services. Additionally, they are in the process of finding some new flooring for the Drop-In; so watch this space!

Our Fashion Show was a sell-out back in September and raised a whopping £1247.

A variety of events throughout the year at Macclesfield College have raised a wonderful £600 which is contributing to the overdue makeover of the Drop-In!
Prestbury Methodist Church held an annual Coffee morning last month. Including donations, the total was just over £700.

We were successful in bidding for £250 from Crimebeat towards arts and crafts materials, which will be used to make cards and other gifts to sell on our stall at the Treacle Market (including this weekend). The patron of Crimebeat, The High Sheriff of Cheshire attended Just Drop-In to see how the money is being spent.
