Today, November 5, 2014, will be the final day for pavement crack sealing on Lansing roads due to the upcoming winter weather conditions. In total, The Operations and Maintenance Division has laid over 100,000 pounds of crack sealing.
What is Crack sealing?
Crack sealing is performed on pavement that is 3-5 years old and prevents water from getting under the pavement, which can cause pavement failures and pot holes. Crack sealing provides the best protection of the road system for the least amount of money.
