If you keep up with
our website or
Facebook page, then you know that things have been busy and blessed over the past few months. We thank God for open doors of ministry, and new Study Centers opening every month. And we have even had
a graduation or two along the way!
A Historic Event
In the closing days of August, at a Baptist camp outside of the city of Santo Domingo, Ecuador, we held our first national GBS retreat. Students and pastors from 11 different churches that use GBS materials came from various cities in Ecuador to meet together for two days of fellowship, encouragement, and Bible study.
There are more students studying through Seminario Bautista Panamericano (our Spanish name) in Ecuador than there are in any other country outside of the United States. At this time we have over 150 students in 12 different churches in that country. Over 120 of them were able to attend the retreat. It was a tremendous blessing to see them all in one place together, not only to the leadership, but also to the individual students who gained a better sense of the full outreach of the school.
GBS President, Bob Reed, taught leadership principles from the book of Nehemiah in each of the sessions. Additionally, a meeting was held with all of the pastors to determine how to improve our ministry to the churches of Ecuador.

A New Responsibility
Pastor Sunmer Cuesta has been a part of the ministry of Global Baptist Schools for several years. Our students meet him in their very first module, as the teacher of “How to Win Souls to Christ”. His animated, humorous teaching style makes him one of our favorite faculty members. Pastor Cuesta also operates a GBS/SBP study center in his church, Fountain of Life Baptist Church, in Rock Hill, SC.
Now he is taking on a new responsibility as our Study Center Coordinator. Please pray for him as he introduces the ministry of SBP to Pastors, and helps them establish Study Centers in their own churches. If you would like to help financially support Pastor Cuesta in this important ministry, please contact us today.
Are you up to date?
The best way to stay up to date with the ministry of Global Baptist Schools is through
our website. Regular ministry updates, observations and articles from Bob Reed (including his latest article on
GBS and the local church) and more information about the news in this prayer letter can be found there. You can even
give electronically. Please visit
GlobalBaptistSchools.org.
Thank you for your partnership
Without the faithful prayers and support of others, this ministry would simply not be possible. Our work outside of the US is almost completely underwritten by those who support this ministry every month. Thank you for your part in the work of Global Baptist Schools and Seminario Bautista Panamericano.
