Rhyolite, A Stone of Regeneration
Hi <<Your First Name>>, Today we're going to take a look at Rhyolite.
I recently returned from a trip to Iceland, a land of geothermal pools, waterfalls, volcanoes, and rhyolite mountains. The presence of those rhyolite mountains surprised me until I learned how they are formed. Composed of feldspar and quartz, rhyolite has a composition similar to granite but with a smaller grain size. Rhyolite frequently contains voids and glassy fragments, due to its rapid cooling from a molten state. Its beautiful bands, bubbles, and crystal-rich layers form as lava flows onto the stone’s surface and moves forward. Individual pieces of rhyolite can therefore look very different from each other, depending on how the volcano that formed them has erupted.
Owing to the variety of its formations, rhyolite represents change, variety, creativity, and progress.
