From our Founder

Wow! We apologize for how long it's been since we've gotten a newsletter to you. Bethany was not able to continue writing for us due to her school commitments, and we are grateful for the work she did. We are happy to welcome Stefanie Redhing as our newsletter editor.  We hope to keep you better informed on the happenings within Triad Ladder of Hope. We continue to see God working in many ways as we advance the work He has called us to do.

We have recently welcomed FIVE new board members and are excited to have them as a part of our team! This is an exciting time to be a part of the work God is doing through Triad Ladder of Hope and we thank each of you for what you do to support us through volunteering, prayer and financial giving. You are part of our team - and helping us make a difference in ending slavery in our communities!

Here is an update on a few of our happenings:

SOAP PROJECT

We have just finished visiting hotels in the Triad area asking managers to put soaps labeled with the National Human Trafficking hot line number in their hotel bathrooms.  Pam Mitchell headed up our project and we had an abundance of help!  The wonderful ladies from Glenn View Baptist Church in Winston Salem labeled the soaps for us. Volunteers from many churches joined us to visit hotels, including a group of students from Elon University and a partner organization- Alamance for Freedom.

In our preliminary count, we were able to speak with managers in 40+ hotels. We left soaps in 39 of those hotels. One hotel took a packet of information. We gave out approximately 7,800 bars of soap!  We had several hotel managers to welcome us with smiles, happy to have the soaps again. One hotel thanked us for the hot line information, sharing that they had once called the number regarding a situation in their hotel. Our goal is to increase the number of hotels each market.  Please cover us in prayer as we continue to get the soaps to the hotels during each Furniture Market.

REFLECT HOPE

We believe that as the body of Christ, it is our responsibility to be the Light and physically REFLECT God's hope into the areas of Satan's darkness.  Many women who work in the adult entertainment industry are victims of abuse and are at high risk or have already become a victim of sex trafficking.

Reflect Hope is a ministry dedicated to reaching these women.  We have teams in Greensboro and Salisbury, made up of men and women from the Christian community who desire to see these women know the love of God and experience the freedom found in Christ.

Our teams visit the adult entertainment clubs once a month and take "pampering bags" to each woman.  We have an abundance of volunteers who put these bags together for us and we are so grateful for their contributions and the love they show these women.  We covet your prayers for these teams as they immerse themselves each month in this dark environment - for their safety, their reception with the club managers and the women and anyone else they may come in contact with during their visit.

1ST ANNUAL GALA!

January 11 is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day.  In recognition, The Triad Ladder of Hope will be hosting its 1st Annual Human Trafficking Awareness Gala on
January 10, 2015.  We will be “Unmasking the Truth” behind human trafficking in a masquerade-themed Gala held at the Rowan Museum from

The event will be directed by Mr. David Whisenant of WBTV Channel 3.  The evening will begin with a good ole southern buffet, supplied by Buttercup Café of Denton, NC.   Dr. Jim Duncan will say a few words about the Rowan County Taskforce (Project FIGHT) and will discuss how we can all get involved.  We will hear the heart-wrenching stories of faith and courage from some  human trafficking survivors.

Come out and support the young ladies who have survived this horrific crime and learn how you can help prevent this from occurring in your own neighborhood.  Tickets are priced as follows: $50.00-per couple; $30.00-single; $15.00-law enforcement; military; teacher personnel.  Tickets may be purchased here http://tinyurl.com/TLH-GALA-2015 or by mailing a check to Triad Ladder of Hope-Awareness Gala; P.O.
