November Issue- Casa Vieja Lodge- Guatemala: Experience 5-Star Angling

A-Fin-ity is now in the
Casa Vieja Lodge Family

Casa Vieja Lodge is pleased to announce the addition of the A-Fin-ity (39' Billy Knowles) to our fleet.  Billy Knowles custom boats have long been known in the industry as one of the premier gamboat builders from Stuart, FL, for serious hardcore tournament billfishing winning boats! With a cruising speed of 27 knots, AC below deck (for those quick cool downs between bites), built-in communication system with the skipper and a 12ft beam.
"The A-Fin-ity is the ideal billfish gameboat to add to our legendary fleet," said Capt. David Salazar. The A-Fin-ity is also equipped with the latest Shimano rods and reels, light tackle spinners, custom fly tackle, electronics, quad electric teaser reels, and surround sound speakers for those anglers who love to listen to their music while fishing. Call our Miami Office at 1-800-882-4665 or email us info@casaviejalodge.com for complete details and availability.

The 2014 PCCA broke
billfish records last weekend

Casa Vieja Lodge was the host for the finale of 2014 PCCA Tournament by Joan Vernon held November 6-10th. After nearly 20 years of hosting light tackle billfish tournaments the Presidential Challenge of Central America (PCCA) indeed went out on top.  A tournament record of 845 sailfish and 4 blue marlin in just 3 days of fishing on 12 boats! That's about 23 releases per boat, per day!

Overall Standings for PCCA- Guatemala
1st Place: Team Picaflor 10,400 points
2nd Place: Team ANDP de Guatemala 9,200 points
3rd Place: Team USA 8,500 points

Congrats to the 2014 Costa Grand Champion, Team Tranquilo, for the second year in a row! To qualify for this the same team and boat needs to fish in at least 2 of the 3 PCCA Tournaments.

The Billfish Foundation
Tag and Release Standings

Casa Vieja Lodge is a sponsor of The Billfish Foundation (TBF) and we encourage all clients to tag their billfish while out on their adventure which helps support research and conservation. The 2015 Billfish Tag and Release Standings are out and Casa Vieja Lodge Anglers, Mates, and Captains will soon be recognized for tagging and releasing billfish at TBF's Annual Tag & Release Awards Ceremony held during February 2015 during the Miami International Boat Show.

Of course we may need to boast just a bit and let you know that we have 4 of the 5 Top Tagging Captains for Sailfish in the Pacific Ocean! There's no better place and no better crew to fish with than your Casa Vieja Lodge! You can get the full standings which are categorized by billfish species, ocean, and whether the fish were tagged or released untagged by Clicking HERE. You can also purchase tickets for this event by visiting TBF's Website.
