DECEMBER 2014
A Note from the President ...
On behalf of the CAA Board of Directors, I'd like to wish everyone a healthy, happy holiday season and new year!
Our November program featured guest artist Stas Orlovski. Stas spoke about artists he is influenced by (Max Ernst, Odillon Redon, Juan Miro, Joseph Cornell) and was very generous in sharing materials and techniques used in the process of creating his collages. Those present were treated to images from "Chimera," his installation combining exquisite and intricate wall drawings, mounted collages and animated video overlays currently on view at Pasadena Museum of California Art. Marian Devney was the lucky winner of an artwork donated by Stas. We're very fortunate that Stas will be the juror at our upcoming exhibit, A Material World, at Burbank's Creative Arts Center in February.
Don't forget that our next meeting on January 23 will be held at our NEW location, the San Fernando Valley Arts and Cultural Center in Tarzana CA. Please see map and info here.
I want to thank Barbara Jones, who recently released her position as 2nd Vice-President, Programs. Barbara has been an active Board member for the past six years, having served as Programs, Publicity and Workshop Chairs, as well as primary administrator of CAA's Facebook group.
We have positions open for Programs and Publicity chairs. Your participation on the board is welcome, so if you're an interested CAA member, please contact us!

NEW MEETING LOCATION
SAN FERNANDO VALLEY ARTS & CULTURAL CENTER
18312 Oxnard Street . Tarzana CA 91356

CAA's November meeting at Pickwick Gardens was our last one at that location.
We're excited to announce that CAA meetings will now be held at a brand new art center in the San Fernando Valley. Next meeting is Friday, January 23, 2015.
Beginning next month, CAA member meetings will be held at the San Fernando Valley Arts & Cultural Center, a beautiful bright space that many of you are already familiar with. The venue may be changing, but CAA meetings will have the same camaraderie, fresh coffee, 2nd-chance table and opportunity drawings that members have enjoyed at all locations over the years. And, of course, the highlight of each meeting will be a Guest Artist presentation. See you there! For map and driving directions, click here.
