Montessori Moment

School events serve to build community, further relationships among our Montessori circle, and occasionally, provide additional funding. Below is a list of annual events in which MSBG participates, always with the emphasis on the children we serve.

Chess

This past Monday the MSBG chess club completed in the second round of matches with 5 other regional schools, posting six wins, three losses, and one draw.  This round was hosted by BG Christian Academy, and saw three additional club members competing for the first time.  Participating in this round were Erik Broman, Isaac Douglass, Julian Gomezdelcampo, Marilyn Iott, William Iott, Jeremy Mahoney, Aiden Skinner, Gabriel Skinner, Cole Weaver, and Robbie Zhang.  Round three will be played this coming Monday, Nov. 17th, at the BGHS Performing Arts Center.

CAPE

Have we got a deal for you! For Keeps, Ginny's Inspired Fashions, Movementality, Myles eateries, and Rick & Carl's Trees have agreed to give CAPE a cut of the proceeds when you buy their gift cards before Dec. 2. Find some new gift ideas or treat yourself, while supporting local business and your child's school. It's a win-win-win! Look for the fundraising packet in your child's mail to find out how to take advantage of this great opportunity. Click HERE for more information!

Our St. Martin's Day celebration is next Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 6:30. Bundle up and join us for a lantern-lit parade around the grounds, followed by cookies and cocoa. A little light against the darkness, a little warmth against the chill, a little fellowship to remind us to take care of each other all winter. Click here for more info.

Extended Care

Extended care is a growing, exemplary program! With more students, we add more staff.
We would like to welcome Ashley Diepenbruck to our after care team of child care workers!  Ashley is from Loveland Ohio, has studied abroad and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from BGSU.  Ashley’s passion is animal science and she is an experienced dog trainer.  She has ran classes at the Toledo Zoo for students of all ages educating them about the animals and has enjoyed teaching children dog handling and care.  We look forward to adding Ashley’s talents to our team!

Holiday Parade

Plan to march with us on November 22 during the BG Chamber of Commerce's Holiday Parade. It's fun, festive, and a great time for all.

We will announce as soon as we know where our assigned meeting place is.  It is a Beach theme so we have leis for all participants. Refreshments, courtesy of CAPE,  are going to be provided while we wait. Please sign up on the posters around the school so we have an estimate of participants.

We need candy to toss; there is a collection box in the foyer. We also need to borrow some beach towels to put on the float. Please bring those with you that morning.

Thanks all! It will be a fun morning together.

Book Fair

Some may say it's too early to think about our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair on December 8-12 and some may say it's good to plan ahead. All I know is that the schedule is out there if you are willing and able to pick a shift to work our book fair. Not only does this offer an excellent "buy and take" book selection but it raises some great funds for our school, including the great perk of new books for our classrooms and library.

Being a book fair cashier means helping customers find items of their interest, straightening the shelves, and following the checkout procedures. Trust me, it's easy, and the office is always available to help if you get stuck.

To select a shift, CLICK HERE for the online volunteer form.
