Fresh , young , callaloo heads from before..
Ocea opened, and began watering. Mark and Cindy came and started weeding etc. I arrived late cos it wasn't my early morning. i remade the callaloo bed. Jay told us we could eat the red amarynth leaves just like the green ones( callaloo is green amarynth). Callalloo is a marvelous green at this time of year when the lettuces, kale and broccoli are not big enough to eat, Callaloo provides wonderful greens. Soon we wont need it any more but the young plants springing up all over are a great food source - if they are left to grow while nothing else is big enough to eat. They  appear in the month before the other plants are ready. Isn't nature marvelous.

This is the harvest for today, green and red amarynth, and okinawan spinach - i love harvesting the small new leaves of Okinawan spinach - dark green on top , purple undersides. - its like picking tea. I like to eat them straight away - i feel that green plant life enriching and strengthening my blood.

If you come to the garden, and no-one is there yet, you can open the gate and go in - its so peaceful.
The value of working in the garden is, for me, the experience of feeling peaceful and happy doing something that is deeply rooted in human consciousness. I feel anchored to the earth , and linked to the ancestors, and i simply deeply enjoy finding tasks to do and doing my thing as part of a co-operative enterprize.  Like enlightenment - it can be described , but will not be known until it is experienced.

Dont let your dreams be dreams - become part of your garden.
