Curriculum Enhancement
Recent Highlights
On Nov 4th, Mr.Hartman form The School of Toy  came to Spiritridge for a workshop with the 5th graders in Ms. Emig, Ms. Frieden and Ms. Redshaw's classes on controlled , measured and changed variables. In the workshop, students  experimented with building racecars that showed the three variables. The workshop was very enjoyable and broadened the limits of curiosity.


Spiritridge Named School of Distinction!
The Center for Educational Effectiveness for 2014 has named Spiritridge Elementary and Highland Middle School as Schools of Distinction!
To qualify, schools must be in the top 5 percent of improvement in math and reading on state tests. Congratulations to  everyone at Spiritridge who works daily on making this kind of growth a reality!

Come learn about Spiritridge’s School Improvement Plan, including the purpose and contents. We will be welcoming feedback regarding the School Improvement Plan.


Student Directories now Available
The The Student Directory is finished and has been distributed to teachers. If you joined the PTSA, your oldest student should have received the directory Friday, Nov. 7th . Take a look in your student's backpack for this year's purple directory. If you don't see it by Nov 14th, please email directory@spiritridge.org.

Student Directory has school information and policies, online school resource info (like how to get on Dreambox), PTSA information including board members, committee chairs, and the calendar, Panther parents, student contact information, and a list of parents with different last names from their students for easy lookup. You can join the PTSA at any time, and we'll send a directory home with your student.

Ski Bus Registration is Open!
Who
: Grades 1-5 (special exception needed for Kindergartners - see contact details below)
When: Wednesday afternoons January 7th - February 11th, 2015 (6 consecutive Wednesdays)
Where: Bus departs from Spiritridge for Summit Central Ski Area, Snoqualmie
Cost: $300 + season pass (cost varies)
Send the registration form in to school. Participation limited to the first 35 applicants.

Lost and Found is Overflowing!
Please Check it Out!  If your child lost something at school, it could be in the Lost and Found. 

There are  lunch boxes, cups, books, and more jackets than we can hang up.  Please ask your student to check it for lost items.  All items in the school Lost and Found will be donated on Wednesday, November 26.  


Dads &Kids Pizza Night & Watch D.O.G.S Kickoff Nov 19th
 

Spiritridge is participating in the national WATCH D.O.G.S. K-12 program for fathers, grandfathers,uncles or other father figures to volunteer at school. Volunteers spend one day at the school volunteering in various classrooms and school day activities. WATCH D.O.G.S. serve as role models, helpers, tutors and mentors while demonstrating a strong presence on campus. To get involved join the kick off event.

Huge Thank You to our Book Fair Volunteers!
We had another successful book fair and we could not have done it without the help of all our wonderful volunteers.
