Fukuda Sensei inducted into the 10th dan Hall of Fame

At the National Sport Karate Museum: On October 4, 2013 in Houston, TX, She became the first woman inducted.  Her legacy continues to live on!

Congratulations Soko Joshi Judo Club for your 26th Fukuda International Kata Championship! 
 


This annual tournament, hosted by the Soko Joshi Judo Club, features all seven Kodokan kata.  It is a wonderful celebration of skill and heart.  We are happy to see it living on with such vibrance in it's 26th year!



Project Superhero by Paul E. Zehr

A newly released graphic novel by Zehr features an interview with Yuriko Gamo Romer and her documenting of Keiko Fukuda as a modern-day hero. Romer's interview speaks to the amazing life of Keiko Fukuda as a truly strong, gentle, and beautiful soul. I'm off to Japan! A return journey of sorts: reconnecting with family, setting up leads for the screening of Mrs Judo in Japan and conducting research for the new film. With the season turning, from "Orange October" to "Amber November", I'm sending wishes for a vibrant and joyous holiday season!
