Zeina is a 17 year old young girl who has been sexually abused by her father since the age of 7. Her mother was very absent due to the repetitive conflicts with her husband which eventually led her to leaving him and the household.
The father, the uncle and the grandfather of Zeina all work in the facilitation of prostitution, so Zeina was very precious for them as her young age of 13 was very appreciated by their clients.
After many years of practicing prostitution, Zeina said that it has become a necessity in her life. It was a pleasure for her to seduce men to have a sexual relation with her. After a long while of working, Zeina decided to confess everything to her mother, and decided to file a law suit against her father.
Zeina was rejected by her mother and her entire family who saw her as a shame to the family. The mother had then remarried and Zeina’s father in law would not accept her in their home. Facing this difficult situation, Zeina found that death was the best solution and attempted suicide various times.
Later, Zeina came towards himaya asking for help and support. She needed to live like a young woman of her age, have a loving and accepting family and a bright future ahead.
With the support of the himaya's social worker and psychologist, Zeina has become stronger and registered in an institution where she decided to pursue religious studies and said that she felt that she found strength in that field.
She is still pursuing psychological follow up and says that her relationship with her family and her surrounding is getting better due to joint efforts.
