New Effective Members: Energy Living Lab
We're thrilled to welcome a new effective member to ENoLL following the September 2014 General Assembly; Energy Living Lab is an open innovation ecosystem dedicated to energy efficiency and the development of renewable energy in Western Switzerland. It is composed of the University of Applied Science Western Switzerland, host of the Living Lab, Chablais Agglo representing the public authorities of this French speaking region, private companies in the field of energy, together with an association of users.

FIWARE Accelerator Programme
September 2014 marked the grand opening of the FIWARE Accelerator programme, where the European Commission has allocated 80 million Euros to foster innovation and businesses on the Internet of the Future. 16 different accelerator projects in different thematic areas from smart cities to media, learning to agrifood, were launched in September 2014 during ECFI-2 event in Munich, helping entrepreneurs capture opportunities coming from a new wave of digitization in multiple sectors.
 
80 million Euros will be distributed amongst SME's, start-ups and web entrepreneurs across Europe with innovative ideas for sustainable businesses that will lead to transformations in the daily life of people, organisations or businesses.  For more information visit www.fiware.org and for the open calls see here.

 
CreatiFI: Leveraging the Future Internet for Creative Industries
CreatiFI is a new European initiative introducing the FIWARE technological platform to Creative Industries and supporting the development of new creative applications and Future Internet technologies with a total 4.8 million Euro fund. During the first call, 60+ applications will receive funding ranging from €10k to €50k to develop a prototype, of which 18+ will be selected for additional funding of up to €100k for commercial development and acceleration. In total, up to €150k is available to an individual applicants! Application is open for start-ups, SMEs and web-entrepreneurs now here! Deadline: 30th of November 2014.
The City Innovation Summit
Organised as a side event of the well-known Smart City Expo, the City Innovation Summit (Nov 17-18, Barcelona) is a meeting space for experiences, concepts and tools for innovative cities. ENoLL is very proud of supporting this fine event that will bring public service innovation, public-private innovation and social innovation conceiving the city as a natural place for innovation and experimentation. This event is organised in 4 different tracks (economy, people, urban and governance) and will have good representation from the Living Lab community in the #People track. The final Europeana Creative Challenge on Design is now OPEN!
The aim of the Europeana Creative - Design Challenge is to engage designers, artists, developers and entrepreneurs to explore and experiment with with cultural heritage content available in Europeana. We challenge ingenious minds and makers to rethink and redesign our common culture, and produce innovative and novel interpretations that make use of digital cultural content and data sourced from Europeana or Europeana Labs. We welcome a wide range of works for the Challenge, and appreciate contemporary and creative approaches to the digital cultural heritage materials. For example, including but not limited to results of digital fabrication, media art, design objects, web/mobile applications and services.

The challenge opens on the 30th October and online submissions are welcome until the deadline: 15th January, 2015 at 20h00 CET via ecreativedesign2015.istart.org To find out more on the challenge, entry criteria and discover more support please visit the Europeana Creative website here.
Tap into the flows - I3H call for Internet Innovation Hubs (IIH) open
The I3H project announces its open call for Internet Innovation Hubs. I3H invites all hubs interested to join the emerging network of Internet Innovation Hubs to apply. Through a stage gate process, I3H team offers candidate hubs support and coaching to pass the so called incubation gates and ultimately reach sustainability via viable services, structured processes and an IIH network, which offers quality, scale and top contacts globally for its member hubs. Go http://www.f6s.com/i3h/apply# and fill in the application form! The first deadline for selecting the pioneering hubs is fast approaching on November 15, 2014. The invitation for the 15 shortlisted hubs will be sent out in December to join the 1st bootcamp in mid-January 2015. Further information can be found here.
FIWARE and entrepreneurial challenges at iMinds the Conference
iMinds the conference is an internationally relevant annual conference held in Brussels on October 23rd on digital innovation targeting researchers, developers, entrepreneurs, company and policy decision makers. This year the agenda proposed a successful and hands-on session on Entrepreneurial challenges: how to help SMEs stay ahead of competition by offering them support for innovation. The session, moderated by Ingrid Willems and attended by Pieter Ballon (secretary of ENoLL) as speaker, was focused on FIWARE, an Acceleration Program recently launched by the European Commission, a open, public and royalty-free architecture aiming to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. SPECIFI at Music Tech Fest - shaking music, new technologies and co-creation
SPECIFI, the European co-funded initiative aiming to boost the Creative Industries sector in Europe, participated in in Music Tech Fest, an international, itinerant event stimulating artists to play with new technologies and share results with a large range of different stakeholders. SPECIFI attended the Berlin edition of the festival, held in Germany’s largest city from the 24th to the 26th of October, 2014. SPECIFI partners proposed two Internet-assisted artistic performances with artists performing from 2 different locations. Then, SPECIFI participated in the Hack Camp proposing its technology easing distributed performances to hackers coming from all over Europe. ERRIN Brokerage Event Week 24-28 November 2014, Brussels
Organised by the ERRIN Network, this event is a unique opportunity for all Stakeholders interested in applying for next H2020 2015 Calls. 7 Brokerage Events will be organised in one week in order to allow Stakeholders to meet together and discuss concrete project ideas. Each Brokerage Event will be focused on a specific Topic. Organised by and for ERRIN members, the event is open to ENoLL members and is free of charge. Find more information here.
