Holiness, Godliness, Usefulness

Lesson 440: Whatever He Asks
God created us the way He wanted. God alone builds us up; God alone enables us to stand.
God’s infinite resources, the riches of His grace, enable us to serve Him.
Some Christians fear “stepping out of line” so much that they never take a step.
Imagine someone standing in the middle of a mine field, surrounded by hidden explosives.
They are afraid to move, paralyzed by fear of losing what little holiness they have “earned”.
They are reluctant to serve God because it seems risky; what if they stumble?
But God has declared that we are His in Christ; we are His children. Satan wants our faith to be weak and our doubt to be strong. He wants to cripple our testimony about what God has done.
Oh, the depth of God’s riches for us. Rom.11:33, 36; Eph.1:7-8, 3:14-21
Serve God knowing that our resources are unlimited. We are His ambassadors. 2 Cor.5:20
God’s provision (not mine) empowers me to serve Him; whatever He asks of us, He enables.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
