THIS WEEK AT MARYEL....
Dear Parents,
This week we had a mini construction theme. We talked about the materials buildings/houses are made of and what type of buildings are seen around the world. We also looked at spooky houses and asked, “Does this house look strong enough”? And “Who wants to live here”? The answer to both questions was “no” and “no way”...
Warm regards,
Ms. Jeanette
Señorita Nina

We created apartment buildings by using construction paper and placing a picture on the floor we live on. We focused on our addresses, counting up to the floor we live on. Shapes we have in apartment buildings.

Because it was Halloween, we were able to carve a small pumpkin and pull out all the seeds.
We used our senses of smell and touch to count our seeds and make a graph.

This week we worked in teams to build different types of houses. We used wood, leggos, and bristle blocks. A little imagination goes a long way and that is exactly what happened with our construction sites. Also, Pascuala went home with Ryan and he fixed the laces on her shoes.

Chloë brought us a pumpkin and we quickly put it to use by playing pass the pumpkin until the music stops. And Halina explained to everyone that it’s not about winning, it’s about playing together…lesson of the day!
