First peek at our new look

The autumn weather is finally with us, and we’re almost exactly halfway between the end of the Lufthansa Festival of Baroque Music and the start of the London Festival of Baroque Music. When we last wrote to you we were getting excited by the business of setting up the new Festival, one part of which was working with designers on a fresh visual identity and logo for printwork and web content. We rather like the way things are going and will be revealing our new look soon. In the meantime, see left for our new logo.

New dates

One excellent piece of news since the last letter is that we’ve already been able to add to the advertised dates, meaning that that the 2015 Festival will now run from Friday 15 May to Tuesday 19 May. We’ll be ready to give you a lot more detail soon, but for now let’s just say that the theme will be Women in Baroque Music, and that it’s going to be full of the kind of events we know you like.

Rameau: Maître à danser
Tuesday 18 November 7.30pm, Hall

William Christie and Les Arts Florissants conjure up that world of the French Baroque, with this ravishing staged re-imagining of two of Rameau's fantastic courtly ballets: the 'heroic pastorale' Daphnis et Eglé, and the majestic La Naissance d'Osiris, composed to celebrate the birth of the future King Louis XVI.
