Holiness, Godliness, Usefulness

Lesson 447: Our Righteous Actions, Pt.2
God’s blessing does not mean that our life will be trouble-free.
Even the righteous face times of darkness, temptation, bad news and foes. Psa.112:4-8
Godly people are not guaranteed “families without problems and homes without leaks”.
But like ripples in a pond, our righteousness will impact everyone around us.
Those who are closest to us will feel the strongest impact. Part of God’s blessing to us is
that our obedience produces a legacy of faithfulness to our children and grandchildren.
But the astonishing thing is that God’s blessing does not expire after a few generations.
The influence of our righteousness does not shrink after a thousand thousand generations.
This powerful motivation for holiness is always available, even when we feel discouraged.
Consider your priorities: time invested reading Bible stories to a child has eternal consequences.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
