Palm Desert
Today's Finest Stoner Rock Representation

You ever tried to introduce someone to Stoner Rock ? I'm sure one of the first name that came to your mind to represent that scene was Kyuss, right ? Well you can now use Palm Desert to describe what is THE PERFECT Stoner/Desert Rock sound.

These Polish might not come from the desert, but they striked (once again...) with one of the best Stoner album I heard this year. Pearls From The Muddy Hollow is their 4th album (out last Friday), each one being a real gem, sounding exactly what you want to hear from a Stoner album.

Each and every track on this album is crafted with what makes every Stonerhead listen to this kind of music : First a killer voice, strong and punchy but also sweet and melodious when needed. Then Palm Desert really understood one thing that Kyuss mastered and that helped defining the genre : Take the most badass riff you can, play it smoothly, then little by little, build heavier layers of that same riff, feeling the fuzz taking you from the inside... and... BAM ! They BLAST you with an even more ferocious riff !

And of course Stoner Rock isn't called "Stoner" for nothing ! Yep, Palm Desert are also kings when it comes to play mind-blowing psychedelic moments, repetitive riffs full of reverb and delay on top of groovy bass lines, free-flowing guitar solos, spacey vocals, all of this being soooo relaxing and calming when smoking some of your best weed...

Clearly on my Top 10 Best Albums of the year. I urge you to listen to their entire discography on Bandcamp.
