Holiness, Godliness, Usefulness

Lesson 463: God Makes Us Useful
God gives His righteousness to His children. Christ defeated death; He gives us His victory.
This gives us a new outlook on our service to Him. He makes our works holy & useful.
Even our unseen acts of kindness done in His name have purpose and please Him.
Even a cup of water shared in His name is an expression of His righteousness.
It is as pleasing to Him as an Easter anthem, or the prayer of a child with faith.
God never forgets a deed done in His name, when His child acted for His glory.
Once we grasp this truth, we will be ready to consider the fruit of the Spirit.
Where is God calling you? To remain strong during trials? To be faithful? To sacrifice?
Never forget what God remembers: those who serve Him in His righteousness.
If Christ calls us to a task, or to fight a battle, He will make the provision. Trust Him.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
