Lesson 458: A Holy Transfer, Pt.1
Our ultimate rescue depends only on God; our weakness can't destroy our standing with God.
My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness… on Christ the solid Rock I stand.
This confidence gives us great courage to face daily battles, even if we lose everything.
The soul of a believer is eternally secure. The battle is the Lord’s. 1 Sam.17:47
1 Cor.15:57 thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
His grace protects us where we're defenseless, and gives us honor we could never deserve.
Psalm 111 & 112 are meant to be read together; 111 describes God and His righteousness.
Psa.112 begins with praise but shifts in verse 1 to describe the blessed ones who fear the Lord.
Fearing God means we humbly realize that now & forever depend on God’s mercy. Luke 1:50
Ten times, the righteous man is described in Psa.112 with the same terms as God in Psa.111.
God’s character, His own righteousness, is transferred to the person who fears Him.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
