Welcome!

Hello from London-ish!

Welcome to the very first JEM newsletter! It's a place for all things JEM-ish, and where I get to rabbit on some more. I know many of you miss the odd post on Facebook - sometimes important posts, so we plan on using the bi-monthly issue of the JEM newsletter as a reminder of these things, plus a heads-up on other JEM related news. If you're receiving this, it's because you've signed up to get your fix of me and my world. I hope when I land in your inbox, you smile and take a few minutes of your day to catch up with me.

Latest News...

Just 1 sleep until the UK release of ONE NIGHT-DENIED, and 6 sleeps for the U.S! I'm nervous. I can't help it. There are thousands of readers awaiting the continuation of Miller & Livy's story. That's a huge pressure. But at the same time, the elation when someone sends you a message and tells you that you've surpassed their expectations - made them cry, laugh, feel, love... Well, nothing compares to the sense of pride and satisfaction. I've had a few of those messages already from reviewers. I'm excited & apprehensive. It's a strange combination that I don't think I'll ever get used to. I appreciate that we didn't get to know Miller much at all in PROMISED. The first book was focused mainly on Olivia and her history. DENIED centres mainly on getting to know Miller. Because I know you sense there is a whole lot more to know! You'd be right. Once again, I hope to drag you in and help you live their story through my written words. Obviously I'm in love with all of my books, each for a different reason, but for me, DENIED surpassed PROMISED. I fell in love all over again with Miller Hart. I truly hope you do too.

One Night- Denied
Excerpts released to-date...

‘I beg you to love me forever,’ he whispers.

My face falls into his neck and nuzzles. ‘You don’t need to beg me,’ I murmur. ‘There’s nothing more natural to me than loving you, Miller Hart.’

“She’s the blood in my veins.” He speaks clearly and softly. “She’s the air in my lungs.” There’s a slight pause, and I’m sure I hear William inhale a shocked breath. “She’s the bright, hopeful light in my tortured darkness. I’m warning you, Anderson. Don’t try to take her away from me.”

***

‘If my twenty-nine-year tale of misery has led me to you, then that makes every unbearable part of it worthwhile. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat, Olivia Taylor.’ He dips and sweetly kisses my cheek. ‘Accept me as I am, because it’s so much better than what I was.’

***

His palm lifts slowly and cups my cheek, stroking slow circles. ‘The second I looked at you, I saw light through my constant darkness.’  He moves in, his mouth getting closer, my eyes focused only there. ‘I saw bright, hopeful light reflecting back at me through those beautiful sapphire eyes.’ He doesn’t kiss me; he just keeps our mouths close, his breath spreading across my face, enhancing the sense of warmth coursing through me. My eyes close. ‘I’ll respect your request for this evening. But remember, you are my possession, Olivia. You’re my habit, and I’m not going down without a fight.’ He releases me, leaving me breathless, dizzy and feeling abandoned. I open my lids to face torturous beauty. ‘And I won’t lose no matter who takes me on. Even you.’

***
'We were made to fit together. We fit perfectly together. You must feel it, Olivia.’ He doesn’t allow me time to agree, or maybe disagree. He inches forward slowly, carefully, holding my eyes until our mouths meet and he’s humming in contentment. My arms lift and hold him, my body pushes into his and my eyes close in bliss. We kiss for an age, slowly, delicately, lovingly. I can feel our broken pieces shifting and coming together, the rightness of us fused everywhere cancelling out all of the wrongness of our doomed relationship.

A book recommendation...

It's very rare I get quiet time to just...read. I read EVERYTHING - no set genre or author. Whatever tickles my fancy when I happen to have some time to myself. I'm no reviewer; I'll leave that to all of the wonderful bloggers, but I'd love to share a book with you if I've loved it. I recently read a book by A.R Torre. The Girl in 6E landed on my doorstep, courtesy of my publisher. Please note, this does NOT mean I am obligated to read it OR give my thoughts. They send me books all the time. I just read what grabs me and for some reason, The Girl in 6E caught my attention. It's not for the feint hearted, granted, but A.R Torre does an incredible job of taking a sensitive subject matter and telling a compelling and thought provoking story. My hat comes off to her. Sometimes it's good to step out of your comfort zone, and I'm glad I did.  It's compelling writing and such an interesting glimpse into the world of camming and the online sex industry. The Girl in 6E is definitely worth a peek.

Mortifying
moment
of the
   month...

See this picture? What's worse is that the lovely person who actually made the coffee looked down at the cup and frowned before calling, 'Toadie' on a grin. I chuckled to myself, listening to him call 'Toadie!' again and again while looking around at me and my fellow coffee addicts, hoping one of us would claim the skinny Latté. Of course, no one did, and we all started looking around for Toadie, too. Way too much time passed before I realised that 'Toadie' was, in fact, me. I then spent a ridiculous amount of time and energy, embarrassing myself further, trying to explain that my name was Jodi and his colleague had spelt it wrong. I died a thousand deaths, blushed bright red, stuttered and stammered...then gave up and vowed never to visit that coffee house again. I mean, clearly it's a 'J' and not a 'T'!
