Celebrating Ten Years - Same Syndicate, Same Daypart
Thanks to our network, affiliates, advertisers, and listeners!

Syndicated for Ten Years

Thank you to all who help make it possible.  First and foremost, thanks to Ted Anderson and the stellar crew at the Genesis Communications Network for professional operation all-along.  Free Talk Live quickly became the most-carried show on their multiple networks, gaining more radio affiliates than their longtime most-carried program, Alex Jones.  In that time, GCN has grown and become a respected industry player.  They are one of the few independent networks still standing and are now home to Dr. Joy Browne, Mancow, Doug Stephan, Dr. Daliah, and more.

Of course, we couldn't have made it this far without the great affiliate program directors who saw the vision of the show and were willing to try something different from cookie-cutter conservative or progressive talk radio.

Originally starting in 2002, syndicated in 2004, and now with more than 160 radio affiliates, Free Talk Live has always been a small business operation.  I handled affiliate relations alone for almost the whole first decade and my co-host Mark Edge handled sales.  We've since expanded to add a salesman and another affiliate relations guy, who are both on-air as co-hosts on different days of the week.

Finally, I'm grateful for our listeners and advertisers.  We continue to broadcast the show live seven-days-per week on-air and online.  The show has zero debt, and is growing in affiliations.  Thank you again for your help making this possible.

Ian to Join FTL Sundays

Starting in two weeks, I'm on-air both weekend days.  When we were first syndicated by GCN, it was as a Saturday show.  Within three weeks, GCN asked us to go weeknights.  This mirrored our experience as a local show in Sarasota, FL where Clear Channel(at the time) brought us on as a Sunday night show and then a few weeks later asked us to go weeknights.  The original idea behind having a Saturday show was that it would be a good way to bring on stations who weren't ready to make a larger, week-long commitment and get them and their audiences familiar with Free Talk Live.  Now our Sunday show, which was only added to our lineup a few years ago, is growing in affiliates in its own right.  I'm going to miss my Sundays off, but it will be an interesting change.
