Beginning Belly Dance 4-Week Session

Five Oaks Recreation Clubhouse 5109 Pine Cone Drive, Durham, NC 27707
Wednesdays, 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Session: Nov 12, Nov 19, Dec 3 and Dec 10
Fee: $48 for the 4 week session ($15 per class for drop-ins)

Learn traditional Middle Eastern dance movements that have been passed down for generations in this entry-level class. Beginning belly dance is about learning how to connect with your body and spirit. Suitable for all shapes, sizes and activity levels, but you will get a work out! This class will focus on improving flexibility, conditioning the body in order to do the movements properly, and building stamina. You will learn basic belly dance techniques and combinations that focus on the core aspects of the dance. Wear comfortable clothes. Pants or shorts are preferred as we may stretch on the floor. Dance shoes and hip scarves are optional.
 

Registration Details

Register online! I require 4 pre-paid registrations in order to start this class. Online payments are now available through my secure payment service, Square. Click here to register online. (I will send a refund if I don't get enough registrations)

Those who pay for a full session can pay with cash, check or credit card. Cash only for drop ins. Refunds are not given for missed classes. Fees prorated as session progresses. Signing up for a whole session and attending classes consecutively is strongly encouraged as each class will build upon the previous classes. Trial class policy does not apply for this session.

• November 25, 2014: Undulation Nouveau at Full Steam Brewery.  726 Rigsbee Avenue, Durham, NC. 8:00pm – 10:30pm. Free. Belly dance performances by local dancers and live Middle Eastern music by The Lost Nomads. Lots of open dancing so bring your shimmy belt!
