This webinar is designed for anyone involved in training healthcare professionals who may be required to work with patients with Ebolavirus Disease (EVD). This is the first of two webinars on this topic and offers an international perspective drawing on the experiences at the King Fahad Medical City.
After a brief introduction to the nature and transmission of EVD, the presenters will describe their experiences of running simulations to prepare healthcare workers to manage patients with EVD.
The webinar will then shift focus to the more general role of simulation in hospital-based care with an overview of the CRESENT project – a new simulation hospital in the King Fahad Medical City.
Participants will be able to ask questions of the panelists and the webinar will be recorded for later access.
After this webinar, participants will be able to describe ways in which simulation can support the preparation of healthcare workers for dealing with patients with EVD. They will have gained theoretical and practical knowledge on the role of simulation in developing safe healthcare practices with respect to EVD and general raised awareness of simulation practices internationally, especially in relation to hospital based care.
