Chris Stagg - Coach Profile
Qualified white water and flat-water kayak instructor.

I would like to introduce you to our the newest member of our CP coaching team, Chris Stagg.  He has come down from Auckland for the summer to work for both CP as a coach and Topsport kayaking guiding trips down the Waimak.
Chris has paddled up to Class 5 all over NZ but enjoys teaching the endurance aspect of white water. Chris has all the elements that have made him slot seamlessly into our CP coaching team - professionalism, passionate about helping people to achieve their goals and keen for some fun and an adventure.
His Monday evening kayak session still has a couple of places available so if you are up for a challenge Sign up here

Complete Performance Christmas Party - save the date

Wednesday 17th of December 7.30pm

Join us for Pizza and Beer upstairs at Elevate Bar (2 Colombo st).  This will be a chance to catch up with others, plan some summer trips and off course we will have a CP award or two to give out.

We will meet and leave from Elevate for our final CP ride of the year at the normal time - and of course our challenge will be to look like the picture on the left!

Your Inspirational must read
Simon Huntley (CP Coach) - Atacama Crossing

The race involves 250km over 5 “big days” at altitudes of between 2500 and 3500m above sea level (altitude generally starts to effect you over 2000m) with temperatures between 40-45 degrees in the day and dropping close to freezing at night.

It is very difficult to sum up and describe one of these races; it is something that takes months of training and kit selection and preparation and the memories and experience will last for many years. I felt part humbled, part broken and part proud – no one who finishes the Atacama Crossing feels like they have beaten it; they have just settled for an honourable draw.

Mount Somers Mountain Run

This is one of the best offroad runs around and it is only an hour away from Christchurch.  If you are keen to join the crew to run they will be meeting this Saturday 9.30am at the Stavely Store.

Bryan Prestidge will meet you there to help co-ordinate a car shuttle. This is not an official CP adventure day but will still be a group of Awesome CP people keen to get amongst it.

There is no cost but either email richard@completeperformance.co.nz or comment on the facebook post (thursday morning) to indicate that you will be meeting Bryan at that time.

LeRace Specific Sunday Ride

Sunday Roadies will take it to the hills this weekend. Reta's back and we'll be joined by Paul Odlin with a special Le Race group so we will have 3 challenge options on the go. Join us for a good workout and the chance to really earn that Sunday coffee! (Brett)

Book Here and if this will be your debut make sure you choose the complimentary session at the check out.

Nutrition - fuel your engine and finish strong

Your endurance event is actually a nutrition race - an eat-athon if you will.  One of the reasons that Reta is such a good endurance athlete is she knows how to fuel her body so she can finish her races strong while everyone else is fading (it also helps that she is super awesome!).

Check out her recommendations of how what to eat and how much in your next event

CP Coaches Final Thoughts - Richard Greer

Be prepared for anything...

One of the great things about our CP team is the way we support each other but also keep each other honest when required... I received this from an unnamed source today...
Chris Bridges goes to Marlborough in the weekend to do the Queen Charlotte Classic but only takes ONE wheel for his bike!!  Will he be a unicyclist I ask???

To make sure that you don't forgot something that is relatively important and make the same mistake as Chris (and many others that have gone before him) head to this link for our event planning and gear list template

If you scroll back to the top of the Motivator you will see that Chris did in fact finish the event, so well done Chris - there is nothing like a little extra challenge...
