Thanksgiving 2014

First off, the team at The Cheese Traveler would like to extend a warm thanks and a deep gratitude towards all of our fantastic customers.  We love cutting cheese for you! Your support and feedback inspires and motivates us to bring you some of what we think are the best cheeses, cured meats, and artisanal eats on the planet.

So.  We're ready to help out with all of your Thanksgiving needs: cheese, local fresh and cured meats, gourmet chocolates and confections, an extensive mixology selection, and all types of artisanal and small-batch pantry items.  Let us craft a delicious cheese plate for you and your family and friends.

Just as in years past, we're pleased to offer extended Thanksgiving holiday hours.  Our hours for next week are as follows:

MONDAY, 11/24 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (extended)
TUESDAY, 11/25 10 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (extended)
WEDNESDAY, 11/26 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (extended)
THURSDAY, 11/27 CLOSED -- Happy Thanksgiving!
FRIDAY, 11/28 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (normal hours)

Thanksgiving specials
From Friday, 11/21, we will have a limited number of fresh, never frozen, turkeys for sale.  These turkeys are from Misty Knoll Farms in New Haven, Vermont--they're all natural, free-range, hormone and antibiotic free, and graded by hand.
We ask that you try to reserve your turkey ahead of time, as we have a very limited number of them available.

Holiday cheese plates
Perfect for entertaining while Thanksgiving dinner is being prepared, as part of the main spread, or as an after dinner course! Let us artfully arrange a spread of fine cheeses, meats, and accompaniments, honed to your preferences.  We're able to meet all types of dietary and taste guidelines at most any time of the week, though we do prefer a 24-hour advance notice.
Black Friday promotion!
All day on Friday the 28th, we'll be running a Black Friday promotion that includes 10% off all Cheese Traveler merchandise and books--perfect for the 'curd nerd' in your life (every family's got one).  We've got Cheese Traveler t-shirts, ballcaps, tote bags, and an assortment of cheese-related, region-, and diet-specific cookbooks.
New arrivals:
  • Raw milk cheeses from Jasper Hill Farms (pictured), two of which are typically pasteurized (Harbison and Moses Sleeper), and Winnimere, a rare shop favorite made in the style of Vacherin Mont d'Or
