The Cross is Not Enough!

And we're not just trying to be provocative...

While obviously of profound significance, the cross seems to have usurped the resurrection as the unique centerpiece of Christian faith, practice, and even how we understand the nature of God's salvation. Yet as Paul said, "If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins" (1 Cor. 15:17). As the resurrection signals Jesus' defeat of death and the dawning of a new creation, so too does it empower the life and mission of Jesus' followers, the Body of Christ, today!

Could it be that restoring the resurrection of the Son of God to its rightful place in Christian thought and life will play a crucial role as the people of God give witness to the gospel in our day?

We think so!

And so we'd like to invite you to our 2nd North American gathering as we consider together...
Being Truly Human:
Re-Imagining the Resurrectional Life
May 7-9, 2015 | Alexandria, VA

We are honored to be working again with Alfred Street Baptist Church & Downtown Baptist Church to host this important event.

We have been (and are!) working hard to bring together a diverse cadre of leaders who are engaged in substantive theological reflection and practice capable of guiding our conversations in fresh and hopeful directions together.

Through plenary presentations, mid-size, conversational forums, and specialized workshops, we want to press into the significance of the resurrection for understanding our human identity, our embodied witness as followers and communities of Jesus, and several of the pressing questions and issues of our day such as gender, sexuality, reconciliation, and others.

Here are just some of the friends we're excited to have with us, helping to shape our conversations and imagination this May...

We were overwhelmed by the response to our first North American gathering in 2013, "The Future of the Gospel: Renewing Evangelical Imagination for Mission!" Yet, thanks in major part to the friends and partners who have engaged us about the need for and shape of this next gathering, we are even more excited for all that God might say and do through this opportunity for church leaders from across tribes and traditions to gather around these important conversations.

We sincerely hope you will join us this coming May!

We'll have many more exciting details to share with you in the coming weeks and months. In the meantime, for more information and to register at the Early-Bird rate, visit...
