Darren Mar-Elia, founder of GPOGuy.com and SDM Software, shares his insights and tips around Windows® Group Policy.
Dear Group Policy Readers:
Greetings fellow IT admins! Next week here in the United States is the Thanksgiving holiday. So, I wanted to ensure I got this newsletter out before those of you celebrating the holiday, took some much needed time off. I've got a few good tidbits to share in the Group Policy (and PowerShell) world, so thanks for continuing to subscribe.
The first thing I want to mention, is that we've posted a new
"sneak peek" video of our upcoming
Group Policy Compliance Manager product. This product is a long time in coming, and I'm very happy to say that by the next newsletter, it will be generally available. In the meantime, check out this video to get a glimpse of how this product can help you answer that all-important question, "Are my systems compliant with the Group Policy settings I've deployed to them?".
On another note, I want to mention a time sensitive event that I'm participating in tomorrow (Friday, November 20th) at 10am Pacific time (GMT-8). I'm partnering with my good friends at
SpecOps Software to deliver a webinar on PowerShell and WMI. So if you're interested, come by and check it out. You can
register here.
So, in this newsletter, I've got two new articles to share. The first article is a link to a blog posting by a fellow Group Policy MVP, who did some great work to document how you can speed up your WMI Filter queries in Group Policy. The second article takes on a much bigger topic. In this article, I ask the question, "Are we entering a post-Active Directory world?". Check out this provocative topic and let me know what you think!
Thanks for taking the time to read the newsletter!
