Changes to the erosh membership year

What are we doing and why?

We are changing our membership year so it runs from January to December rather than for 12 months from when you join. In addition to responding to members’ feedback, key benefits are:
  • You will be able to more easily take account of your erosh membership in the autumn budget process
  • We will be better able to develop services to meet your needs as we can more effectively analyse trends, customer profiles and interests etc.
  • We will keep you better informed about our services and member benefits as we will can link membership joining/renewal processes with our work plans
  • We will have a clearer picture of our membership figures earlier on in our financial year which will able us to plan and budget ourselves more effectively

When does this start?

We are phasing in this change from 1 January 2015. By the end of 2016 everyone will be on a January to December membership year.

How will we phase it in?

As you can imagine, it is a bit tricky moving everyone to a calendar year but we have a plan we think is as fair to everyone as it can be:
  • If you join/renew between 1 January and 30 June 2015, we will invoice you for the remainder of 2015. Then in January 2016 we will issue a new invoice for the full year to end December 2016.
  • If you renew between 1 July and 31 December 2015, we would like to invoice you for the rest of 2015 plus the whole of 2016. This means you won’t have to bother to think about renewing and your membership will continue seamlessly until the end of 2016.
  • If you join as a new member between 1 July and 31 December 2015, we would like to invoice you for the rest of 2015 plus the whole of 2016 so you don’t have to bother to think about renewing and your membership will continue seamlessly until the end of 2016.
How are we introducing the change?
  • November – we are sending you this email explaining the change
  • Late November – we will send your first renewal notice and invoice which you can pay as soon as you like but within 30 days of the invoice date please
  • January – if you haven’t renewed we will send your second renewal notice
  • February – if you haven’t renewed we will send your third renewal notice
  • March – if you still haven’t renewed we will send your final renewal notice explaining that we might have to terminate your membership if you don’t renew
  • April – if you still haven’t renewed, we will have to assume you don’t wish to renew and terminate your membership

It is a bit complicated we know, so if you would like a chat about it please contact our Chief Executive, Rebecca Mollart, ceo@erosh.co.uk, 01926 410848 / 07803 176957.

One more thing......

Our fees have remained the same for at least 11 years!  Over the last few years we have been working very hard to offer a wider range of member services and benefits. We have therefore decided to increase fees very modestly to help us maintain and develop these further and increase the value of your membership.

And we really do mean a modest increase! Increases range from no increase at all for tenants and organisations with fewer than 50 units to £45 for organisations with 5,000+ units. Organisations with 50-499 units pay just £5 extra and those with 500-4,000 units, only £10 extra.

We hope you appreciate our reasons for this increase especially as it is the first one in at least a decade!
