What's up? 

Praise & Thanksgiving Service! This Sunday will be another warm, worshipful service together with our church family and guests. In preparation for Thanksgiving, the service will be shaped around worshipping through music and testimonies. We've asked a few folks to share how God has worked in their lives, and we want to ask you as well to consider sharing a brief testimony that glorifies Jesus and encourages His people.
 

Holiday Schedule. For the rest of the month, we'll have ONE SERVICE at 10:00 a.m.

Beginning in December, we enter our sixth year of December Nights! There will be NO Sunday morning services throughout the month. Instead, we move have evening services at special locations, designed to augment your experience of the Christmas season in a way that will refresh your heart and renew your spirit. These special services are an ideal time for you to INVITE friends, families and co-workers.

  • December 7: A Night of Christmas concert at Blacksburg High School, 5:00 p.m.
  • December 14: December Nights services at old Main Street Baptist Church in downtown Christiansburg, 5:00 & 6:30 p.m. (two services)
  • December 21: December Nights service at MSBC, 5:00 p.m.
  • December 28: December Nights service at MSBC, 5:00 p.m.

Spread the word!
This year, December Nights begins with a special Christmas concert led by the Northstar Band and children. This special evening will be at Blacksburg High School. We hope you'll begin now INVITING friends, family and coworkers by passing out our "tickets." Pick them up at BMS this week or the church office. 


Connect Worship Night

Take a study break for a night of refreshment and worship. Christmas snacks, worship from the Northstar band, a short devo = Winter Worship Night.

Children: Gingerbread Nativity!

Celebrate the meaning of Christmas – Jesus’ birth - with us in a fun-filled (and messy) morning together on December 13. Families will create gingerbread nativities to take home. Feel free to invite a family to participate. Sign up at the link below so we'll have enough supplies!

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY:

BAGS OF JOY

Last week at Missions Sunday, we launched our annual Bags of Joy ministry. Members and guests at both our Blacksburg and Pulaski campuses pick up the red bags and then stuff them with goodies for Christmas for children in foster families. We still have bags left! Help us show families the love of Christ by providing a bag of gifts for Christmas. Pick up a bag at BMS at the Bags of Joy table in the lobby.

DECEMBER NIGHTS

REST. REFLECT. REJOICE. RENEW

December Nights has become somewhat of a tradition around Northstar Church.  During the month of December we don’t have Sunday morning church. We move our services to the evenings, and we focus on the theme of Rest. Reflect. Rejoice. Renew.  It’s a beautiful season to refocus our spirits on Him who makes all things new. 



HOT CHOCOLATE HAND-OUT

The Christmas season is an incredible time to meet and serve our neighbors during the Blacksburg and Christiansburg Christmas parades. In past years, we've had a Christmas float in the parade, but this year, we'll be handing out free hot chocolate and information about December Nights!

JANUARY CONCERT!

Rend Collective and a familiar face...
Northstar has partnered with Belmont Christian Church to help bring the band Rend Collective into town this January at Christiansburg High School! It's going to be a popular concert, so make sure to get your tickets today here. To make it even more fun, our very own Cody Davenport will be opening the concert!
