Lesson 468: God Values All Our Labor, Pt.1
In Jesus’ parable of the laborers in the vineyard, the master chose some workers. Matt.20:1-16
Some worked all day, and received the full day’s wage that the master had promised.
The context in the preceding verses Matt.19:27-30 is God’s view of our sacrificial service.
Matt.19:27-28 Peter said in reply, “See, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones.
Those who leave everything to follow Christ, for the sake of His name, will be rewarded.
They will rule with Him in heaven, and receive back 100 times what they sacrificed on earth.
Clearly God values those who are saved as children, and live long fruitful Christian lives.
We are inspired and encouraged by those who dedicated themselves early to serve God.
We echo God’s evaluation of long service: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matt.25:21
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
