We love our furry friends at the market, but please remember to always have your pets on a leash and never leave them unattended at the market. Only well-trained and socialized pets should be brought to the market for the safety of all.

Georgia Organics’ My Market Club has been going strong this season! Across the state, we’ve welcomed thousands of new shoppers! That’s more support for our local farmers! Thanks to sponsors like Chipotle and The Georgia Food Bank Association, we will continue to give all new shoppers $5 to spend on delicious, local food on their first visit.

But you don’t have to be new to be a member! Sign up for the club and you’ll be entered to win great local prizes! And, for each new friend you bring to market, you’ll be entered to win again and again! Help spread the local love, y’all!

This Week at the Market...

Have you enjoyed the 2014 season? Consider making a donation to our program on GA Gives day, so we can keep on bringing fun events & great local food to your neighborhood. Every little bit makes a difference! Also, We're experimenting with the idea of a farmstand that would offer you farmers' market produce with supermarket hours. Let us know your thoughts by completing this survey.

We are open every Thursday from 4pm to 7pm.  See you there!

Meet Your Vendor...

The Little Tart

The Little Tart Bakeshop is a French-inspired pastry shop founded in Grant Park by Pastry Chef Sarah O'Brien

"On my tenth birthday, my grandmother Sophie gave me a rolling pin and taught me how to make her famous apple pie, with apples from the orchard up the road. I have been baking ever since. I earned my chops working as an intern in two Parisian bakeries and I hope to bring my own little bit of Paris to Atlanta, my adopted and much-loved city, through The Little Tart.

We believe in making everything from scratch, by hand, with the finest ingredients we can find – much of which we source from local farmers, cheese mongers, butchers, and jam makers. We hope to show through our work that eating sustainably also means eating heathfully, affordably, and most importantly, deliciously."

The Little Tart creations are as delicious as appealing they look. Find a sweet or salty treat to eat during market and now you can order their delicious holiday season pies! See the menu here and order before they get booked!

Featured Recipe

Try your hand at Sarah Dodge's adaptation on Eat Your Veggies, our blog's corner for market produce recipes. Gather your ingredients at market for this seasonal staple!

Roasted Beets with salt + pepper

servings 4      time 1 hour

  • 1 bunch beets, washed and greens removed
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 TBS salt
  • 1//2 tsp black pepper
  • goat cheese, optional
  1. Preheat oven to 400 Degrees. Place beets in a shallow baking dish. Toss with olive oil and 2 teaspoons salt. Cover with aluminum foil and cook for 50-55 minutes. Beets are done when you can poke a fork in and beets are soft. Immediately remove from heat and run cold water over the beets. Grab a towel or use your hands to rub skin off the beets. It should rub right off very easily. Chop beets to desired size. Add remaining salt, pepper and more olive oil if desired. Toss well.
  2. Add goat cheese or balsamic vinegar to taste. Serve

Follow Sarah's recipes every Wednesday on our blog!

Community Love
Photo Contest

Building community is our reason #10 to support your local farmers market. Besides the great food, when you shop at the farmers market you get to participate of your community: it's talents and causes, kids play together and you are bound to run into someone you know. To commemorate this, we invite you to share pictures of good market times with us, we will create an album and the crowd favorite will receive $25 in market tokens!  You can post your pictures on our facebook page, tag us, or use #farmatl on instagram.
Market Info

The EAV Farmers Market is open every Thursday from 4-7 pm, April-December. Come rain or shine!  Find us at 561 Flat Shoals - across from the Midway Pub.

Come get to know your farmer, your food, and your community at our market.

DOUBLE SNAP

The Decatur Market is a grateful partner of Wholesome Wave Georgia, an organization that doubles every SNAP/EBT dollar spent at the market. Families using SNAP get twice the purchasing power for healthy food!  $1 = $2. Visit the main info booth to get SNAP tokens or to find out how you can support the program.

Bike to the Market

Your efforts to support your community don't have to end at buying local. Choose walking or biking to the market instead of car transportation, and help improve your neighborhood's carbon footprint. Cruise the roads of the East Atlanta Village and enjoy the outdoors in support of your community.

Driving to the market?  Park on the sidestreets off Stokewood Ave or try the lot located at 1231 Glenwood Ave - open Thursday from 4-8pm only for market patrons.
