This year, I will be closing The Silver Forge shop on 16th December in preparation for a gorgeous break with my lovely family. I will reopen on 13 January 2015. I was prompted to revisit my creating process by a lovely customer's request to see some progress shots of her new ring. What started as a few snaps grew into this new blog post! Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia’s leading organisation supporting premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them.
This cause is one that is close to my family's heart, and I'm proud to be donating 10% of all The Silver Forge proceeds from December in support. As there are two miracle babies in my family, I am choosing this to be the second month of donations to this very worthy cause!

sodalite matching earring and pendant set
I created this matched set of sodalite pieces for a dear friend to donate to a fundraising raffle for ArtSound Radio, Canberra's own music and arts radio. Sodalite is such a lovely stone, and it was nice to help support a good community cause!
If you have a favourite stone you'd like set in a piece, get in touch and let me know. You can see more custom pieces I've created on my website in my bespoke gallery ~ and I update my gemstone collection regularly with new cabochons for you to choose from. I also have a large collection of smaller gemstones 6mm upwards - that I will be listing online some time in the new year, so if you'd like something you don't see, please just ask!

JeeYoung Lee is a Korean artist with the most delightful way of examining the world. She transforms her 3x6m studio into incredibly intricate and detailed works of art, exploring varied themes that can sometimes take her months to build - then she inserts herself into the landscape she's made.
